We have a limited selection of content available now for you to sample, but we will keep adding to our collection.

Frequently Asked Questions about iTunes U

  1. Do I have to pay to access NU on iTunes U?
    No. NU on iTunes U is free to all. As long as you have iTunes installed on your computer, you can access NU on iTunes U for free by clicking this link: NU on iTunes U.
  2. How do I access NU on iTunes U?
    Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. To install iTunes for free, visit Once iTunes is installed on your computer, go to and click the link to launch NU on iTunes U.
  3. Is Northeastern’s content public or private?
    Currently, Northeastern’s content on iTunes U is public. This means that anyone using iTunes can access the content posted to NU on iTunes U through the iTunes Music Store. If you would like to podcast material for your organization or course, and you want to limit access to the material to members or students in your class, we recommend podcasting using the Blackboard service. Here is how to podcast using Blackboard.
  4. I don’t have an iPod or a Macintosh. Can I still access all of the content on iTunes U?
    Yes! You do not need an iPod or any other special equipment to acess content on iTunes U. All you need is the latest version of iTunes and a computer with speakers. You can then listen or watch content right from your computer. If you want to take the audio with you, you can download it to any mp3 player. Alternatively, you may burn audio or video to a CD if you have CD-R drive on your computer.
