Our Location

The Digital Scholarship Commons is a creative environment allowing faculty to come and learn at their own pace, to walk in to discuss an issue, or to schedule some time to work on a project with our staff.  We view this as a “one stop shop” for faculty not only to escalate issues or requests to ATS, but to other areas of Information Technology Services (HELP x4357). As well, the Digital Scholarship Commons is a space for faculty to meet casually with other faculty.

Complementing our efforts by working with faculty and researchers to refine their teaching and research strategies in light of advancements in technology are the Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research (CATLR) and the Digital Scholarship Group, both located in this space alongside ATS.

Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research (CATLR) offers opportunities for faculty to broaden their perspectives on teaching and learning and apply strategies grounded in research to optimize learning.

The Digital Scholarship Group (DSG) advances interdisciplinary, collaborative research, and offers forums, workshops and research fellowships for faculty and doctoral students in the area of digital scholarship.  DSG staff assist faculty with project development and planning, navigating copyright and intellectual property issues, planning for migration or sustainability, and planning issues relating to funding and staffing digital projects.  The DSG supports the curation and publication of data that contributes to improved methodologies for the organization and stewardship of digital scholarship.  In addition to supporting faculty and doctoral students work, the DSG undertakes original research and development in key areas of digital scholarship.
